Findings

We had the opportunity to see a class robotics course for children led by Professor Oscar Meneses and four tenth-grade students. We could see that there were about 20 children who were enthusiastic when the teacher told them that they had the company of two eleventh grade students.

The children told us the time we receive virtual classes they use the code.org platform where they learned to use and create variables in addition to the fact that they found it simple and playful. They also said that they learned to program to play rock, paper, scissors, made step counters, circuits, and learned the laws of robotics and its basic concepts.

Regarding their opinion of the educator, they were grateful because he explained playfully and interactively how to program in a different way than other teachers. At the end of the class, Oscar announced that it would be the last class of the course; he asked what they wanted to do for next year. Here there was sadness but at the same time a lot of participation and desire to continue with this project.

Two exercises take from the game "Greentech" of the Ministry of Education, Ministry in ICT, and the British Council. There was a lot of participation from the children who performed the exercises with ease when the activity was over, they wanted more. Here was when good computational thinking for their age was evident.

"Programming is not as difficult as it appears." The children expressed to us.
